Although a complete modernization was required for this project, it seemed fitting to honor the past elegance of Beirut.
In every aspect, this is an entirely contemporary building, with all the amenities that are expected of a structure of this standing. The restoration was carried out with the latest materials and components in order to cater for the needs of the bank today and in the future. Stainless steel awnings, large glazed openings and aluminum composite panels serve the functionality and aesthetic.
However, look again and you will notice the timeless elegance of the facades, achieved by the use of classical proportions and symmetry. The marble cladding is a nod back to Beirut’s hey-day when Travertine was widely popular.
