The site is located in the downtown area, partially seated on the Solidere District and partially on the Beirut City district. The urban constraints imposed by both districts define the project lines and generate its massing: a 24-meter height podium and double towers. The Podium is fragmented to allow light and sun to penetrate into the middle of the lot, creating a small sunny Piazza at the ground floor level, open to the city. Generously planted, the Podium’s roof will host a suspended garden, recalling “the Babylonian garden”. Above the Podium, double towers emerge and are articulated with the panoramic lifts landing – a transparent slot separating the two masses. The materials used for the project – stone, glass, steel, fabric and greenery – will generate transparency, lightness and luminosity.
